Tutorial 4 Using the Auto Fill Wizard for Class Timetables

This is the fourth tutorial in a series that show you how to use iMagic Timetable Master. This tutorial steps you through the process of using the Auto Fill feature to populate a class timetable.

The Auto Fill wizard saves you from manually entering every period with a Tutor, Subject and Room.

Step 1. Welcome.

The first step welcomes you to the wizard and indicates what it does. To continue:

1. Click the Next button.

Step 2. Choosing the subjects and periods to fill.

Choose which subjects and the total teaching time of each that should populate the timetable. The remaining periods available and periods filled are shown to help you choose. To add a new subject:

1. Choose the subject name to include.
2. Select how many periods the subject should fill on the timetable.
3. Click the Add button.

To remove a subject:

1. Choose the subject name that has been included.
2. Click the Remove button.

When you have finished click the Next button.

Step 3. Choosing which rooms to include.

Choose the rooms that can be used on the timetable.

1. Select each room that can be used on this timetable.
2. Click the Next button.

Step 4. Choosing the tutors to include.

Choose which tutors can be included on the timetable.

1. Select each tutor that can be used on this timetable.
2. Click the Next button.

Step 5. Finished.

All of the necessary information to populate your timetable has been entered. To continue:

1. Click the Next button.

Tips

You can define which subjects each tutor teaches in the Management system.
Auto Fill may not be able to automatically fill every period, the remaining periods need to be entered manually.
